General information

Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medical drug (NSAID). It is used to treat pain, fever, and inflammation. It has been used as a medical product since the early 1970s marketed under multiple brand names. Ibuprofen is mostly used to treat fever, painful menstruation, osteoarthritis, dental pain, headaches and pain from kidney stones.  In relation to cystic fibrosis, our AIM tool found the data that Ibuprofen can help preserve lung function thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties and can also help rescue F508del-CFTR.
