Hepatocyte growth factor
Enhances functional rescue of Phe508del-CFTR
General information
Hepatocyte growth factor is a substance naturally present in our cells. It regulates cell growth, cell motility, and morphogenesis by activating a signaling cascade. Hepatocyte growth factor plays a central role in angiogenesis, tumorogenesis and tissue regeneration. It is being studied as a potential treatment for coronary artery disease and for damage to the heart following myocardial infarction. In relation to cystic fibrosis, our AIM tool found the data that hepatocyte growth factor can help enhance the chemical correction of F508del-CFTR.
