General information
Gallium is a chemical element predominantly used in electronics, with no known natural role in biology. It is being studied as a potential treatment for a number of cancers, infectious diseases, and inflammatory diseases. In relation to cystic fibrosis, our AIM tool found the data that gallium can help with its antibiotic activity to improve lung function in cystic fibrosis patients with chronic Pseudomonas aeruginosa lung infection.
