Flavonoid activator of CFTR
General information
Equol is an isoflavandiol estrogen metabolized from a type of isoflavone in soybeans and other plant sources by bacterial flora in the intestines. It is being developed as a treatment of menopausal symptoms and studies also in terms of breast cancer treatment. In relation to cystic fibrosis, our AIM tool found the data that equol can help activate F508del-CFTR.
