Galectin-3
CFTR corrector
General information
Galectin-3 is a protein naturally present in our cells. It is involved in multiple biological processes, such as cell adhesion, growth, differentiation, and death. It is also involved in cancer, inflammation, heart disease, and stroke. It can be used as a biomarker to identify individuals at risk of cardiovascular disease and predict patient response to different drugs and therapies. It is increasingly being used as a diagnostic marker for different cancers. In relation to cystic fibrosis, our AIM tool found the data that galectin-3 can help correct F508del-CFTR.
